Assisi: Guided tour of the basilica, time to wander the lovely streets
of Assisi, shop or sightsee.
Meet for a fine meal at a restaurant near the main piazza.
Montefalco: Only 3K away from our inn is this charming small town,
known for Sagrantino wine, fine linens, and typical Umbrian foods.
We will visit 2 wonderful local restaurants.
Market Day in Cortona, where you can experience the busy market,
enjoy a “porchetta picnic”, explore the town made famous
by Frances Mayes’ Under the Tuscan Sun, and meet for a lovely
dinner in one of Cortona’s finest restaurants.
Spend a relaxing Sunday at the inn. After breakfast, you may enjoy
a dip in the refreshing pool, or soak up the view of vineyards with
another cappuccino on the terrace. Those interested in a “sunflower
photo tour”, have your cameras ready. Afternoon brings chef
Judith Greenwood to teach us how to make homemade pasta, and to prepare
us a fabulous four-course evening meal.
We will stroll along the flower-filled main street of Spello, making
our way up the hill to spectacular views from this stunning hill
town.
Wander along the streets of Deruta, enjoying the myriad ceramic
shops before our memorable lunch. Back to the inn for a casual dinner
and “game night”.
Bevagna: Lunch, and time to enjoy the Museo della Citta and it’s
fine selection of Roman artifacts and medieval manuscripts, or walk
through town and enjoy a caffe or a gelato. In the afternoon, we
will sample varieties of local Umbrian olive oils.
A full day in Orvieto: See the magnificent duomo, enjoy excellent
shopping, explore underground Orvieto by walking down the well, or
relax in a piazza with a gelato. We’ll meet again for dinner
in a typical Umbrian trattoria.
A wine-tasting party beginning right in the vineyard, and ending
in the cantina of our own “Umbrian home”, Genius Loci.
Departure transportation to Rome, or the Foligno train station.
